TO GROW SUCCESSFULLY WE BELIEVE IN WHAT WE DO, BELIEVE IN HOW WE DO IT, AND BELIEVE IN WHAT WE CAN ACHIEVE. IT IS NOT JUST WHAT WE DO THAT MAKES US STANDOUT, IT IS HOW WE DO IT THAT MAKES US TRULY DIFFERENT.

Arcus is striving to create an inclusive workplace where diversity is valued, respected and celebrated.  We are all about people – our colleagues, our clients, customers they serve and the services that we deliver.  We hope to create a more inclusive and diverse environment which brings even more success for our colleagues and the wider business.

HAVE AN INSIDE LOOK AT ARCUS

In our years of continuous growth, we’ve worked collaboratively and in partnership with our clients to ensure that our culture remains one of simplicity.

Our behaviours are aligned to encourage our people to share ways of doing something better, saving time, effort or money. We are always open to new ideas and better ways of working.

Arcus Values

Our brand is about more than just adverts, logos and taglines. Our brand is about our people and bringing them together as advocates for Arcus. Our brand is something we do, not just something we are. It’s in how we behave, how we look, what we do and how we do it.

Our values are at the heart of all that we do.  They help remind us all what is important as we go about our everyday work.  We want our people to focus on doing things better: simply, well and with passion.

Minimising complexity so that we deliver efficient and effective processes to our clients.

COLLEAGUE ENGAGEMENT

The engagement of every one of our colleagues is a key priority for us and we work hard to recognise, involve, develop and support them. Twice a year we recognise colleagues who have excelled in going the extra mile. Our Colleague Forum provides a two-way communication process, involving and engaging colleagues, enabling them to contribute to the success of the business. Our ‘Have Your Say’ engagement survey and suggestions box drive our continued effort to improve the way we work, do things differently or more efficiently, and deliver a winning service.

COLLEAGUE WELLBEING

Our colleagues’ health and wellbeing is the highest priority and we do everything possible to ensure our processes protect this and that the right support is provided. Our Mental Health First Aiders across the business are the first point of contact for colleagues who are experiencing a mental health issue or emotional distress. Further support is available e.g. our Employee Assistance Programme (EAP) and range of learning resources on our cutting-edge Learning platform.

INVESTING IN OUR PEOPLE

At Arcus we are passionate about our people and their development. We recognise that every colleague performing at their best every day is key to our continued success. We understand that continuing to invest in our people in the right ways will keep us agile and flexible. This helps us deliver a winning service.

Learning & Development

Our learning and development offering is second to none and it’s one we’re really proud of. It reflects our culture of continuous improvement, of never standing still and always aspiring to do better.

Many of our colleagues have developed within their specialisation, moved into management roles or moved across functions. With our unique approach to development in the FM sector, we’ll support you in exploring your potential, wherever that may be.  We strive to be best in class and we’re able to offer financial support if you’re wanting to further your formal education in your chosen area of expertise.

Hear from two of our colleagues about their career progression with Arcus:

THE LEARNING SPACE

Our award-winning digital learning platform The Learning Space, enables you to create learning content, to explore and share your knowledge and experiences and learn from each other.

This collaborative and explorative approach empowers you to own your development, enabling us to stay agile, continuously improve and give you outstanding career and progression opportunities.

SPONSORSHIP

We value the skills and knowledge of all our colleagues and want to support them through their career with Arcus.  Supported by their manager, we offer colleagues the opportunity to study an individual course tailored to their profession.  Financial support (sponsorship) can be given towards the cost of an external qualification or course, up to the value of £2000 towards the course fees.

SAFETY TRAINING

Getting everyone home safely is one of our most important enablers at Arcus. Therefore all of our colleagues are trained in a variety of face to face and eLearning courses to ensure they can go about their roles safely.

TECHNICAL TRAINING & CAREER PROGRESSION

As a member of one of our engineering teams you will have access to a structured technical and safety development programme that offers clear progression. Training is provided from our expert in-house trainers at one of our technical academies. As well as our in-house training, we offer a range of external courses, equipping you to be the most highly skilled and safe engineers in our industry.

We have an established Career Pathways which allow our Engineers to successfully progress with Arcus.

TECHNICAL APPRENTICESHIPS

Arcus has a growing apprenticeship programme. We offer apprenticeships in our core technical disciplines, including refrigeration, building services (mechanical and engineering) and property maintenance and will expand these into other technical disciplines as we continue to grow.

NON-TECHNICAL APPRENTICESHIPS

We also offer customer service apprenticeships aimed at Helpdesk colleagues and Institute of Workplace and Facilities Management (IWFM) and ILM apprenticeships to support managers early in their career. We partner with some of the country’s leading providers to ensure our apprentices receive class-leading training. We also supplement our apprentices’ training programme with bespoke programmes delivered from our own dedicated training facilities in Essex and the Midlands. Our apprenticeship programmes are opened each year to both internal and external applicants.

LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMME

If you join us in a management role you will benefit from a first-class leadership development programme that uses blended learning to grow your leadership and management skills. You will be trained to use and apply the Future-Engage-Deliver (FED) model of leadership and the bespoke Arcus RIDS model of engagement as tools to lead and engage your teams. If you demonstrate the potential to develop into a management or senior management role, then our bespoke talent management programmes will give you tailored development, ensuring you are ready for your next career step with Arcus
